Jonathan Sadler has been involved in the regeneration of Chatham's old dockyard since the project's early stages. He has watched the roads being built, seen the buildings go up and helped to encourage businesses to move in.
As Thames Gateway director for the South East England Development Agency, it is little wonder he hails Chatham Maritime as a "big regeneration success story". But as he surveys the development from the SEEDA offices he acknowledges there is still plenty for the government- backed agency to do, with 2,500 homes yet to be built and links to be forged with other regeneration projects along the Medway.
