Canadian PM's relations with press become national news

No prime minister can expect to have consistently good relations with the journalists who cover his government, but the post-election honeymoon between the media and Stephen Harper, the Canadian prime minister, ended within days of his January 23 election victory.

Since then, relations have deteriorated and reached a low point last week when the majority of Parliament Hill correspondents attending a press conference on Canadian aid to Darfur walked out before the prime minister even opened his mouth.
