WPP merges healthcare units

WPP, the advertising and media services group, is today expected to announce the merger of two leading communication agencies serving the healthcare industry in a bid for market dominance of that $2bn (£1.1bn) sector.

The company is poised to launch Ogilvy Healthworld, a new company formed by the merger of Healthcare Communications and Ogilvy Healthcare, two existing subsidiaries.
