Baghdad under fire over casualties data

The United Nations criticised the Iraqi government on Wednesday for failing to release casualty figures for the first three months of the year in which violence remained high in spite of a US-Iraqi crackdown.

UN officials said in a report they were not told why their requests for specific official data had been turned down. Only broad percentages were available.
