Pension trustees set to seek more cash

Companies could be heading for a showdown with pension trustees, as trustees and actuaries press for more cash to be injected into corporate pension schemes amid the turmoil in investment markets.

A study by KPMG showed that the schemes of Britain’s top companies were in good health. But market conditions could spook trustees into demanding more cash sooner, straining corporate balance sheets, it said.
