We are all familiar with the phrase you are what you eat, but perhaps we should add to that you are also what you smell around you.

Academics have discovered that people behave more ethically and more generously when they are in clean-smelling environments. The experts say that their research has implications for the workplace, retail outlets and other organisations which rely on surveillance to enforce rules.
