Florida bank sues analyst over a report

BankAtlantic, a small regional bank based in Florida, yesterday sued Ladenburg Thalmann analyst Richard Bove over a report on potential bank failures that it claimed was defamatory and negligent.

The suit, filed in Florida state court, underscored the banking industry's increasing sensitivity over the way in which their financial health is presented after a run on bank deposits helped cause the failure of California-based IndyMac earlier this month.
