Chrysler to cut deliveries to US dealers by 24%

DaimlerChrysler plans to cut vehicle shipments to its US-based Chrysler dealers by 24 per cent during the current quarter in a belated drive to reduce swollen inventories of trucks and sports-utility vehicles

Dieter Zetsche, the carmaker's chairman, acknowledged yesterday the North American group had badly misjudged the impact of high fuel prices on demand.
