Karadzic forced to take defence lawyer

Judges in the war crimes and genocide trial of Radovan Karadzic will impose a defence lawyer on the former Bosnian Serb leader to prevent him disrupting proceedings.

Thursday’s decision means that the trial, which formally started on October 26, will now be adjourned until March in order to give the lawyer, who has yet to be named, time to prepare.
