Duo’s revolutionary pact with Bacardi

You could say it is “a rum business”. The British dance duo Groove Armada has given the phrase a literal meaning by signing an all-encompassing deal with Bacardi.

The group, formed in 1995 by Andy Cato and Tom Findlay, has sold 3m albums, with hits such as “At the River” and “I See You Baby”, has become one of the UK’s most pop­ular live dance acts. Now Groove Armada has upset the concept of a traditional label deal by leaving Sony BMG for a potentially revolutionary pact that pays them a salary from “the world’s favourite rum”.
