Thomson Reuters sees sales improvement

Thomson Reuters saw “a marked improvement” in sales of new subscriptions to its financial and legal information products in the third quarter, and now expected a dip in sales to be “shallow and limited to the next few quarters,” it said on Thursday.

The effect of weak sales earlier in the year would continue to drag on reported revenues throughout the first half of 2010, said Tom Glocer, chief executive, but the group believed its markets had bottomed out in the second quarter, with some recovery particularly in the UK and other European markets.
