Phone operator with big ambitions

Qtel is a leading fixed-line and mobile telecoms Qatari operator. It has a presence in 17 countries, with 53m customers, in the Middle East and North Africa and Asia. The company is 55 per cent owned by Qatar government, with the remainder in the hands of local and international shareholders. It has been listed on Qatar stock exchange since 1998.
