Turnaround agency to oversee JAL rescue

Japan’s government on Thursday handed the task of rehabilitating Japan Airlines, the insolvent former national carrier, to a corporate turnaround agency backed by the state and private-sector financial companies.

The decision moved JAL a step closer to securing badly needed financial aid but left questions about the timing and details of its rescue unresolved.
