Rates cure offers little relief for housing

Relatively high long-term US interest rates may be helping to nurse the financial system back to health, but they are doing little to get the housing market back on its feet.

Cuts in Federal Reserve interest rates are leading to lower short-term interest rates - but long dated bond yields are remaining stubbornly high.
