Bush 'needs to know more' about global warming

President George W. Bush yesterday promised to take action on US greenhouse gas emissions, but said the US first needed to know more about the phenomenon of global warming.

At the White House after talks with Tony Blair, the UK prime minister, Mr Bush said the US would continue to lead the world on investment in technology to diversify away from the use of fossil fuels.
