UK Small companies seeking venture capital are facing a “structural” lack of investment made worse by the impact of the recession, according to an independent report on behalf of the government.
Lord Mandelson on Monday welcomed the review by Chris Rowlands, a former executive at 3i, but did not put a timeframe on how – and when – the government might implement its plan for a £1bn venture capital fund to aid small business.
