Asia faces potentially drastic changes in rainfall patterns, heatwaves and the severity of tropical cyclones by the end of the century, a leading expert on climate change will tell Asian chief executives today.
David Griggs, director of the UK Met Office's Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research, will tell a private meeting of the Asian Business Council in Singapore that the region will become hotter, more prone to summer droughts in inland areas and at greater risk from typhoons.
