Pollsters left with egg on their faces

Political pundits and pollsters were the biggest losers in Tuesday’s New Hampshire contest after Hillary Clinton’s narrow defeat of Barack Obama defied predictions of a double-digit victory for the Illinois senator.

Frank Luntz, a political analyst, predicted that the weeks ahead would see more erratic polling for a variety of reasons, including the intensity and volatility of the race for the Democratic nomination, as well as the record-breaking voter turnout, which made traditional models erroneous.
