House prices rose for the third month in a row in June, adding to signs that the market has reached a turning point, according to data from the Department for Communities and Local Government published on Tuesday.
Prices rose by 1.6 per cent during the month, after rises of 0.1 per cent and 0.6 per cent in May and April. Prices were up by 2.3 per cent overall in the second quarter, the biggest increase since September 2007. The annual pace of decline eased to a 10.7 per cent fall from 12.5 per cent in May.
