Lufthansa has ended its negotiations on a possible takeover of loss-making SAS Scandinavian Airlines.

It has ended the talks in recent days in the face of the deterioration in the finances of the Scandinavian carrier, which is a fellow member of the Star alliance led by Lufthansa.
