‘Structural flaw’ in pensions bill

A bill with the potential to provide the biggest boost to pension saving in decades goes before parliament on Monday, with critics saying it fails to do enough to ensure that everyone who saves in a new system of personal accounts will benefit.

The Conservatives will not vote against the pension bill’s second reading, Chris Grayling, the party’s pension spokesman, said at the weekend, adding that “we will reserve our position” for later in the bill’s progress.
