Milan

How to get there
Fly to Linate if you can, although there are generally fewer flights than there are to Malpensa, the larger Milan airport. Linate is nearer to the city and the transfer time can be as little as 20 minutes. A taxi from Linate to the centre of Milan should cost no more than €25. The canny traveller with only one bag can instead seize one of life’s very few remaining bargains: a city bus ride on express lanes from right outside the terminal to the centre of the city for just €1. Consider that next time you are on the Heathrow Express.
