Gordon Brown, the UK's chancellor of the exchequer (finance minister), will promise to more than match a second $750m donation from Bill Gates, Microsoft creator, for a fund to support vaccines in developing countries.

Mr Brown will urge other wealthy donor countries to contribute a further $1bn (€766m, £532m) over the next 10 years to bring a special vaccine fund's total resources to around $5bn.
