Babcock order book could hit £5bn

Babcock International, the support services group, is closing in on contracts that could see its order book of £3bn swell to almost £5bn in the next six months.

It expects to secure a contract to build two aircraft carriers for the Royal Navy and a deal to provide training for military combat engineers, according to Peter Rogers, chief executive.
