Abrahams and fundraiser at odds over events

Gordon Brown's chief fundraiser came under intense pressure last night after the donor at the centre of the Labour donations scandal appeared to contradict his account of events.

David Abrahams, the wealthy philanthropist who used middlemen unlawfully to give money to Labour, said he discussed his unorthodox method of donation with Jon Mendelsohn in April.
