Global Radio, which has proposed a £370m offer for GCap Media, has asked for an extension for its deadline to make a formal offer for Britain’s biggest commercial radio group.

The Takeover Panel this month gave Global, which is chaired by former ITV chief executive Charles Allen, until March 26 to formalise its bid.
