Plan to spur take-up of science subjects

The country’s most senior business leader has warned that Britons may be left simply to “pour the concrete” while skilled foreigners do the more complicated work of Britain’s potential “industrial renaissance”.

Richard Lambert, director-general of the CBI, on Monday unveiled a “five-point proposal” to encourage more young people to study science subjects.
