Poll debate brings brickbats for US network

Disney’s ABC News division was fending off a barrage of criticism on Thursday for its handling of Wednesday night’s Democratic presidential candidates’ debate, while simultaneously celebrating the show’s record ratings.

The debate, the first of its kind for several weeks, drew more than 16,000 postings to ABC’s website, as well as acid reviews from television critics.
