Security Council condemns N Korea test

The United Nations Security Council on Monday evening condemned North Korea’s nuclear test, saying it would vote on a binding resolution, including possible new sanctions, later this week.

The 15-member council took little over an hour to express “strong opposition and condemnation” in what Susan Rice, the US ambassador, described as a “swift, clear message” to the North Korean regime.
