High taxes ‘forcing companies overseas’

Nineteen top British companies have moved parts of their operations overseas in the past two years and five say they may move their headquarters abroad in the near future, according to a CBI survey published today.

The study of 87 senior executives from Britain’s largest companies found business leaders blame high corporate taxes and the aggressive approach of the tax authorities for turning the UK into a less attractive place to do business.
