Covered bonds revived by ECB buying spree

The European covered bond market has sprung back to life after the European Central Bank’s surprise decision to buy billions of euros of the securities.

Three new deals were announced on Monday by ING of the Netherlands, Eurohypo, the German real-estate and public finance bank; and Dexma, the public finance arm of the Belgo-French Dexia financial group.
