Health trusts keen to sign private deals

Dozens of primary care trusts are interested in recruiting private sector expertise to assist with the commissioning of National Health Service care, according to the winners of a framework contract that should make it easier for trusts to buy in their help.

But the scope of these deals – at least initially – will fall well short of the government’s original aim that some PCTs might outsource almost all their commissioning to the private sector.
