To accompany the sectoral rankings, research for the individual lawyers’ entries was carried out through a combination of formal submissions from law firms and a survey of general counsel at FTSE 250 companies.

The general counsel were asked to nominate private practice lawyers who, they thought, stood out for innovation. As with the other categories, the entries have been divided into “stand-out”, highly commended and commended.
