Rentokil Initial, the pest control group, has suspended its final dividend to preserve cash as it announced an 84 per cent fall in full-year pre-tax profits.

Ongoing problems in its City Link parcels delivery arm and its core pest control and washrooms businesses saw pre-tax profits to the end of December fall from £142m($205m) to £22.8m.
