India comes long way in short time

To get an idea of how far India's stock market has come, look back to the early 1990s, when the National Stock Exchange was set up.

Infrastructure was so poor that before the exchange could consider opening for trading, it had to become a telecommunications group. It was, and remains, one of Asia's largest proprietary satellite-based telecommunications operations.
