London Olympics budget ‘out of control’

The London Olympics budget is “slightly out of control” and is sapping resources from other social and cultural activity such as the arts, according to Paul Myners, chairman of the Tate.

Mr Myners, the former fund manager who also chairs Guardian Media Group and Land Securities, took the International Olympic Committee to task for choosing to award the Olympics only to “wealthy” or “despotic” nations.
