Hans Vestberg, incoming chief executive at Ericsson, on Thursday expressed confidence that the Swedish company could maintain its position as the world’s largest manufacturer of mobile phone network equipment.

Mr Vestberg, currently Ericsson’s chief financial officer, will succeed Carl-Henric Svanberg as chief executive in January.
