Canada to stay course on stimulus

Canada’s minority Conservative government will put off moves to restore a balanced budget until economic recovery has taken firm hold, Jim Flaherty, finance minister, said on Friday.

Until then, Mr Flaherty told a business group in Toronto, the authorities will stick to a two-year fiscal stimulus package that has turned 12 consecutive years of budget surpluses into a record deficit.
