Alternative Investment Fund Manager directive finds support

The fund management industry is failing to convince politicians and the public sector that Europe’s controversial draft Alternative Investment Fund Manager directive needs to be rewritten.

The directive would impose tighter restrictions on hedge funds, private equity, property funds and investment trusts and has been vociferously condemned by many of the managers of these vehicles, as well as several large institutional investors.
