Umaru Yar’Adua, Nigeria’s president, told the FT in an interview on May 15 that he will enact key reforms within the next 12 months, saying the next year will be “very interesting” for Nigeria. He also sought to reassure investors over his commitment to the rule of law, fiscal discipline and harnessing private capital to repair Nigeria’s crumbling road, power and rail networks. The president, who was flown to Germany for medical tests in April, also spoke about his health.
