Guest column: US and China must take the lead in ‘clean’ coal revolution

The Copenhagen Conference on Climate Change did not result in a clear plan for addressing global warming but it offered two important lessons: first, given the urgency of the issue, it may be necessary to rely on business-led efforts – rather than wait for an international consensus – to tackle the problem; second, Chinese involvement will be crucial to achieve meaningful solutions.

By partnering Chinese companies, clean energy projects can be executed much faster and at lower cost.
