COMPANIES Looking across the Thames at the ranks of office buildings gleaming in the morning light, Mark Dixon is reminded of Britain’s once-proud cotton industry.
“People were still putting up mills in Lancashire until two or three years before the industry just disappeared,” he says. “So much of the office space that’s being built now, people just won’t want to occupy in future.”
