IMF plans on giving Africa a bigger voice

Rodrigo Rato, the managing director of the International Monetary Fund, wants to give African countries more representation on the board and on the staff of the fund.

Mr Rato, who held consultations with African finance ministers in Madrid on Friday, said he would include proposals for greater African representation in governance reforms that he will present at the next meeting of IMF directors in Singapore in September.
