'Bitter blow' as TVR says it is leaving Britain

Workers at the Blackpool sports carmaker TVR were angered by Wednesday's decision from Nikolai Smolensky, its Russian owner, to end production in the UK in spite of earlier assurances that it would continue.

The 250-strong workforce had been told in June that although some operations might be moved outside the UK, car assembly would continue at another factory on Blackpool's outskirts following the expiry this year of the existing plant's lease.
