Fortis forced to buy out Artemis managers

Fortis, the troubled Belgo-Dutch financial group, has been forced to pay €397m ($558m) in cash to buy a third of Artemis, the UK fund management business.

The move comes as Fortis seeks to shed assets, and follows its failure to sell Artemis by the end of September because of the turmoil in the markets.
