SMG in no hurry to sell Virgin

SMG has sorted out its debt position and will not be rushed into selling Virgin Radio, said Rob Woodward, its chief executive.

Although Absolute Radio is in prime position to buy the national station after its last remaining rival, UTV, balked at paying more than £60m, there are questions about how Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Group will react to its proposed ownership of the station.
