Tax best way to offset NHS costs, says study

Spending on the National Health Service would go on rising, but that should not be seen as a sign of the service being “unaffordable”, the Institute for Public Policy Research said on Tuesday.

Tax funding remains the best way to pay for it, with increased private spending unlikely to solve the so-called “health spending gap” or make health spending more efficient, says the Blairite think-tank.
