Tidy your books or the taxman will clean up

Sloppy accounting habits need to be tidied up, say tax experts, as the government’s campaign against tax avoidance steps up a gear.

The measures announced in Wednesday’s Budget to close tax loopholes should result in an extra £600m collected by the Revenue next year, and the government is expected to continue targeting popular tax avoidance schemes in the future.
