In need of business skills

With healthcare accounting for about 18 per cent of expenditure in the US and representing sizeable chunks of the economies of other countries, you might expect the industry to feature prominently in business school programmes.

This is not the case, but with healthcare reform high on the agenda in the US and costs soaring globally, recognition of the need to apply business skills to the sector is being matched by rising demand for MBAs with a healthcare focus.
