Clorox to launch ‘green’ detergent

Clorox, the US company whose flagship brand is chlorine bleach, is launching a plant-based “natural” laundry detergent, underlining the continued move by large consumer companies into premium “green” products despite the recession.

Don Knauss, chief executive officer, said that the new detergent was aimed at a “super-premium” area which the company believed was comparatively immune to economic concerns.
